About us
A group of compassionate Qatari philanthropists, deeply moved by the growing number of children left orphaned in the wake of wars and conflicts in neighboring nations, united to establish 'The Committee of Qatar for Orphan Sponsorship.' Their noble initiative, launched eight years later as 'Qatar Charity,' rapidly evolved into a formidable international NGO. Today, Qatar Charity stands as one of the world's largest humanitarian and development organizations, extending a lifeline to those impacted by conflicts, persecution, and natural disasters. Their efforts extend to comprehensive poverty alleviation through sustainable initiatives in social welfare, water and sanitation, education, nutrition, and economic empowerment. With a presence in 30 countries and partnering with organizations in 20 others, Qatar Charity is at the forefront of global emergency response and pioneering development solutions that empower vulnerable communities to not only survive but thrive. In the last five years alone, they have touched the lives of 29 million individuals through extensive humanitarian and development projects, with a total expenditure of 1.2 billion US Dollars.
